Why is puzzling important for children?
Nowadays computers and electronical devices play a very important rol in our society. However, simple wooden toys are irreplaceable for children. Puzzle pieces have different shapes and sizes, they can be grapped with your hands and they have a certain weight. Children can feel the different shapes and sizes of a puzzle piece when they grab one. A computer does not offer these characteristics. It is important to offer children alternatives, next to a computer. Children focus entirerly on a puzzle when they play with one, it is therefore a very good excercise to practice concentration for children. (Source: Prof. Dr. Ulrich Heimlich)
